Comic Transcript:

FERRET IN A LAB COAT: You hear that sound, Cordelia? You know what that is?

DR. CORDELIA T. SQUIRREL: I sure do! I hear ... THE SOUND OF SCIENCE

CORDELIA:
Hello science my old friend.
I'm testing theories once again.
Because hypotheses within my brain
Require testing methods quite arcane
And the study that my peers have all reviewed
Has been construed
To fit the sound of science

FERRET:
Narrow halls I walked alone
Laboratories built of stone
I pulled my lab coat tight against the cold
From the bioluminescent mold
When my mind was stabbed by this brand-new data set
I'll map it yet
And touch the sound of science

CORDELIA:
And in my laser's light I saw
Unfiltered data in the raw
Numbers fitted to a least-squares line
Numbers starting to at last align
Numbers showing trends I simply can't deny
We needn't try
To fool the sound of science

FERRET and CORDELIA together:
Fools, said I, you should stay mum.
Denying climate change is dumb.
Read my words and learn the evidence;
Check the facts and it will all make sense.
'Cause the words of the experts are written on the journal's page
It's always sage
To heed the sound of Science

Buffy the Vampire Slayer didn't have a singing and dancing extravaganza until the sixth season (the "Once More, with Feeling" episode), and we've got it right here in comic #26.

As a side note, the fourth panel of today's comic is definitely the most fun I've ever had drawing the ferret.
